- Intense anxiety
- Palpitations and/or increased heart rate
- Shortness of breath
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Trembling
- Fear of going crazy
It is usually precipitated by a particular situation or person that the patient fears in one way or another. It needs to be treated usually with medication and psychotherapy and if not treated it may become repetitive.
What treatment options are available?

Medications do not work instantly and frequently take time to be totally effective. Sometimes medications may need to be changed when they are not working. In addition usually in order to achieve the best results medication management should be combined with psychotherapy.
